Design and Engineering

Cubiz’s services cover the entire gamut of design and engineering that includes disciplines such as process, mechanical, civil and structural, electrical, control and instrumentation etc. The services include the following:

• Basic Engineering covering activities such as Development and Finalization of:
  • Process Design and Technical Concept.
  • Plant Layout and Process Flow Sheet.
  • Single Line Diagrams and Control Schematic .
  • Estimation of Preliminary BOQ.
  • Preparation of General Arrangement Drawings, wherever required.

• Detailed Engineering covering all Detailed Design and Engineering Activities such as:
  Mechanical Design and Engineering

  • Review and approve general arrangement drawings of suppliers.
  • Prepare general arrangement drawings of interface areas as per requirement.
  • Prepare general arrangement drawings for ducting and chutes.
  • Prepare and / or review fabrication drawings for all chutes, ducts.

  Utilities Design and Engineering

  • Carry out piping design including sizing, routing and support arrangement for all kinds of piping such as gas, liquids, compressed air, water etc including preparation of isometric drawings.
  • Carry out design for fire hydrants and fire protection systems.
  • Carry out design for HVAC systems.

  Electrical Design and Engineering

  • Carry out system design for power distribution system, earthing system and lightning protection system.
  • Review and approve the general arrangement drawings, power and control schematics and design details for the equipment of the suppliers.
  • Prepare layout drawings and general arrangement with fixing detail for various electrical systems in the plant.

  Control and Instrumentation Design and Engineering

  • Prepare control concept of the plant, identify number of control rooms, type of microprocessor controls, control loops for optimised operation of the plant, system architecture for central control based on latest programmable controllers available.
  • Review and approve general arrangement GA drawings, control schematics, interface/inter-connection diagrams, I/O addresses etc of the supplier.
  • Prepare detailed design and schemes for various components of the control and instrumentation system.

  Civil and Structural Design and Engineering

  • Design of Plant and Equipment Foundations and Super Structures based on the Load data and approved general arrangement drawings.
  • Preparation of Reinforced Concrete Construction drawings and / or Structural Steel general arrangement drawings.
  • Preparation of Bar Bending Schedule.
  • Preparation of Bill of Quantities.
  • Evaluate the interfaces within the departments and concurrence with Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation design.
  • Prepare schematic drawings for the plant services within the plant area such as Roads, Drainage, Sanitary system etc.

  Structural Steel Shop Floor Engineering

  • Preparation of shop floor fabrication drawings with all information such as shape and size of members, splices details for the members to enable the fabricator to prepare shop floor details.

  Miscellaneous

  • Carry out equipment and component design for belt conveyors.
  • Preparation of as-built drawings as well as drawings for obtaining statutory clearances.

• Review Engineering
  • Detailed Engineering activity is replaced by Review and Approval of Supplier’s / Contractor’s Basic and Detail Engineering in case of EPC or Semi-turnkey mode of Project Execution.
